Why doesn't Trulia let you know what word is causing the posting problem?

Asked by Ruthless, 60558 Tue Sep 18, 2007

There is an early 1900s electrical system known as kn_b and t_be. Why does Trulia think I'm cussing?

Too bad I missed this thread; would have save me time Tuesday.

I was having problem Tuesday - the same day the whole board almost stopped - I spent two hours trying to find this word that caused 'profanity' from Trulia rating, deleting one paragraph at a time and then redoing it. It finally worked.

Deborah has problem editing also.

That's the day Trulia uploaded enhancements.

Did Trulia fix that problem? Anybody have problems since? .

Some sites asterik out the offending portion of the word. So when you try to write "assume", it comes out
***ume. LOL.

All,
Sorry the profanity filter is causing some issues. The reason we don't tell you what word is a problem is so smartypants don't use that to circumvent the filter. I'll take a look at the filter now that I'm back from vacation :)

I had that problem when I suggested to a consumer who wanted a low commission rate that they wanted the agent to drop their [blank]. I used another word for "pants". At least I think that was the problem. No matter what I did it wouldn't let me post it. I then realized, Sylvia, you have to get out of that screen and click "answer" again or it won't take your post. Or at least that day it didn't. I have a hard time believing "drawers" is a bad word.

Best Answer award. I haven't swore on Trulia in a while but I remember Jim saying that the first name of one of the Stones is a naughty word.

I had this problem with many search engine when I was posting a web page about a bird with bright colorful NBC fan tail feathers. Apparently these pea___ birds and a kind of rooster/chicken are not something your child should try and do a research paper on.

But tell me, old fashion wiring kn_b and t_be? What am I missing that could be profane? door kn_b

Let's see if it will take kn_b and t_be now.

No, it won't. It still thinks old fashion wiring is profanity. I'm surprised it allows you to use the word profanity.

Hi Ruth. I have had the same problem. I read and re-read my answer and was unable to ascertain which word was objectionable. It has only happened to me once, but it's annoying. It would be nice if the word where highlighted or marked in read. Hopefully, Trulia will look into making this change.
