This house is the only house my mom like in Fremont, and of course my sister also likes, so they just bought it. When we visit our other sister living at Mission View Estate that weekend when my son going to UC Berkeley OHP (Overnight Host Program), she decided that we should buy a home at Fremont, when she heard of our buying a condo at Berkeley http://berkeleyhousing.blogspot.com/ because Fremont has a nice convenient BART station that can go to Downtown Berkeley BART easily with $8.10 round trip each day. In fact, we actually took our son to ride the BART over to Berkeley, and the parking only $1 a day at BART.
It is about 6 miles from Mission View Estate, but we were told that there is going to be a new BART station down at Washington Ave, so that would be much closer, great! We also checked the Mission San Jose High School, very nice and close.
Since so many relatives, friends and Berkeley alumni living at Fremont, we got lots of parties and dinners. We like this Japanese BBQ at Lion City very much, and of course, the World Buffet, and there was a Chinese restaurant open till 3am just good to catch after tour San Francisco.
We went to check the Fishman's Walf and many other places in San Francisco that I can still review over this wonderful EveryScape. http://www.everyscape.com/sanfrancisco-ca.us.aspx
So, next time see me in Little Taipei at Fremont CA, no need to be surprised. When I need to fly over to see my son going to UC Berkeley, I would just go to Fremont my sister's new home ... http://www.realtor.com/search/listingdetail.aspx?ctid=75516&
My favorite part of Fremont is Niles Canyon and towards the Mission hills. Again, because it is quiet and has a rich history plus they still have some great Victorian homes (my favorite). You can also go to the city's Chamber of Commerce to learn more about the environment and what is offered in that city.
Schools tend to be very good as well and you can check out their scholastic levels at:
Also, the market is pretty good out there, things are moving. At least in my experience.
Overall, Fremont is a nice place to be, check it out!
Today there are 250,000 people in Fremont.
No longer a bedroom community. Land size wise, Fremont is one of the largest city in California.
Fremont is very much a family oriented community. Traffic is a mess. City planning is getting better. The school situation needs help. Open enrollment and waiting lines for the best schools.
I lean toward areas outside Fremont. Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore, Brentwood, Discovery Bay. This is the path of growth. Thos is where the money will be made in the coming years.
My brother and his famlies live in Fremont, a great place to live with wide open space, mixed range of homes (his home sits on the hill with gorgeous views); nice shops, and great schools. This is definitely a very family oriented town and education is number 1 on their list. My nephew and niece also went to the Chinese school on Saturday mornings at the public school. Weather is warmer there, but everything is realtive, I am comparing the place to Marin, which is normally cooler.
Overall a great place to live. They love it there and the kids will be settling down there also.
