Have any Realtors adopted the iPhone?

Asked by The Hagley Group, Pleasanton, CA Fri Sep 7, 2007

If so, what do you think? What did use use prior?

I'm really thinking about it. Why the thumbs down?? It's a reasonable question.

I wish I could but since my TREO 700P is my phone and Lockbox Key, I cannot. Apple just released their latest iPODS which has an iPHONE without the phone. I have used the phone and have been very impressed with it's capabilities, however due to my contract with VERIZON (no partnership with Apple) and the requirement of having to carry a key again, makes it unavailable to me. Good Luck

I am about to get one. Glad I waited for the price to drop :) I'm a Mac user so it will be ideal for me. My girlfriend is also a Realtor and she loves hers. Every Apple product I've ever owned has been wonderful, so I'm expecting the same.

I have not and I don't plan on doing so. I am in the market for a new phone, but I don't need a phone that requires an expensive data plan. I use TopProducer 7i for contact management and I don't think that the iPhone syncs with TPP 7i. I also don't want to switch phone carriers. Lastly, I don't want to spend that much on a phone. While they just dropped the phone, it's still too expensive for me.

An agent reported in just this week on RealTown blog that he uses the iphone. If you go there, you can perform a search (probably under technology) and you'll find his contact info. He didn't say whether or not he liked it.

I had a Tablet that was stolen so I purchased the I phone when they first came out. I have had nothing but trouble with it. I have had it lock up on me several times. The touch screen is blank and my phone is ringing and I can't answer it! How frustrating is that? I have tried to access several web pages and it takes forever to download, then I can get to the login page and that's it for the MLS. That is what I bought the phone for in the first place to be able to access the MLS on the go. I have called Apple support several times and they are helpful, but they do not know what the problem is. When I get my next phone I am going back to my TREO!

I'm a macaholic from way back... so the iphone is on my radar. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to switch service providers simply to gain the iphone, and they're only available through ATT/Cingular.

ATT/Cingular does not get a good signal in my area, and zero signal in my office, so I just can't see myself switching, until it becomes available on other providers. But as soon as it does... I'm there.

I'm still please with my treo. I have an ipod. I don't see it necessary to get the iphone at this point.

I have an Iphone and Love, Love, Love it. I cannot wait for the wave of programs that will be launching soon that will help make our jobs easier. I love that fect that I can run on the beach, have the phone ring or get a text message...and the music stops so that I can answer my customers immediatley. I no longer have to carry around three or four different devices to be productive. I can also download all my podcasts, videos...it is a must have going forward in our business as REALTORS in my opinion...plus the keyboard is very easy to use once you get used to it. I just wish I would have been more patient and waited for the 3G to come out...but I am still loving it.

I don't plan on it. Right now, the offerings aren't cost effective. It's a great techno gadget if your priorities are in line with the offerings.

One of my problems is that I need to use verizon becuase it has the most consistent signal throughout the county. So.....i'm planning to wait a while...once all the bugs are gone (and ATT works everywhere) I plan to gret one. I love apple products - something to look forward to later on.

My business partner has one and she loves it! It is not for me. Good question.

Cindi, it is on my wish list. I am a huge fan of iCal and Address Book and many of the other programs that come on it. Very fun and useful programs that help me organize my life and family. My husband uses his Treo and for his own scheduling and I am not sure how or if they mesh, but I think it is an apple / microsoft program thing (outlook). I wish they did or knew if they did. I love that ability for an email reminders for my/our schedules and all of the classifications out of iCal. I was playing with my friends iPhone the other day and I love it.
My favorite thing (and again my "playtime" was limited so I am sure there is something much cooler), was the beautiful screen and looking at Google maps. It was amazing and loved the screen rotation.
