Amherst is not 60 East but rather 60 West. It is located near Lynchburg, VA which is in the southwestern area of Virginia. I'm in the Richmond, or central VA area, and can only refer you to an agent who works with land in that area of the state. Let me know if I can help you further

Actually, Amherst is also 60 east... I know because I live on 60 East in Amherst County... pay taxes to Amherst County, and have children who go to Amherst County Public schools.... :) Route 60 is a VERY long road... Within the town of Amherst, at the traffic circle, one direct on 60 is east, called Richmond Road, the other direction down 60 going west from the circle is 60 west called Lexington Trpk. I've seen acreage running anywhere from $8k to $12k each within the county... hope that helps

Addendum.....

ALC is the designation awarded to Realtor Land Institue members. An Accredited Land Consultant (ALC) has completed educational and production requirements. All RLI members have not completed all requirements for the designation. There are a lot of great and knowledgeable RLI members who have not filed the necessary paperwork to claim the designation.

Hi, I have spent some time in your area, although I am not licensed in VA. I suggest you look up the local RLI chapter in VA. RLI is Realtor Land Institute, and is comprised of Realtors who specialize in land sales. I have taken several of my land classes through the RLI chapter in VA and met some really terrific and knowledgeable people. 3 parcels of 18 acres each in your area could carry widely different values. There are a lot of factors to be considered. I put a link for VA chapter of the RLI below. If you want help locating a specific agent, I would be glad to assist. I met several RLI members across the country and in VA, but specifically as I have taken several of my classes in Richmond VA, where the VA chapter meets. Even within land specialists, there are those who specialize in timber (one of the members I met there), those that sell horse farms, development land, transitional land, ag land, etc.

My office is at the traffic circle in the Town of Amherst. We're just a short distance off of Route 29. Route 60 (which runs East/West) is intersected by Route 29 (which runs North/South). Amherst County is on both sides of Route 29 and locations East of Route 29 are referred to as 60 East, and West of the Town are referred to as 60 West. Price per acre vary depending on views, perk, wooded/cleared/cutover, etc.

One acre that is perced sells for about $110,000 but 18 acres isn't going to get you 18 times that amount. In fact a 3 acre lot is only worth about 15,000 to 20,000 more.
