This is something that is determined by individual Realtors depending upon a marketing plan. The more exposure you want, the higher the fee. The need for advertising dollars and the marketability of the property are factors a Realtor will evaluate when determoining a fee. For example, certain properties need exposure in national publications. This can be necessary to move a property but expensive upfront. These needs can make a marketing plan more costly to execute.

There are services out there that will do this for you. However, just remember "You get what you pay for". I have helped too many sellers get their homes sold after wasting lots of time and money trying to do it themselves or by listing with a limited service broker. Basically what these people do is take your money and stick the property on the mls with limited information making it difficult for other realtors to show and or contact someone for more info.

If you feel like you have a highly desireable property that should sell really fast and you feel that you are fully prepared to deal with the showings, negotiations, contracts, title company, inspections, and the very possible appraisal problem then maybe this is a good way to go. I hope this was helpful. I just wanted to let you know some of the things most people neglect to think about when selling themselves or using a service like that.

I wish you well in the sell of your home. If you decide to use a Realtor please give me a call. I would be more than happy to assist you in all of your real estate needs.

Hey Normandood,
Are you talking about Flat Fee MLS Listings? You should be able to find somebody from $200- $400. Trying googling it (avoid the national redistribution companies)

I don't suggest it, I'm just telling you it is an option. I used to offer this service in Virginia, but I stopped. I blogged about my inside scoop to this industry. See the "Save $20,000 FSBO" post.

You can contact the Norman Board of Realtors or visit their website to get more information. MLS systems are typically available to Realtors, who must adhere to strict guidelines within the MLS Board system(s), and at a state level. Realtors should include the MLS listing in their marketing strategy and do not typically assign a specific "fee" to do this. However, I have seen homes with a Realtor sign in the yard, and no listing in the MLS. As Gwen touched on, internet, marketing & MLS exposure is different from Realtor to Realtor. Please consult with one of us, or any Realtor, to discuss particulars.
