Every county has their own property tax limits. Check the specific county site, or call a local lender in that county. Look at the links already provided.

Great Question!

http://www.seattle.gov/oir/datasheet/industry.htm

This is a good data sheet for this. It currently has Seattle assessed at 9.04 per 1000.00$.

I hope this helps!

For a house around 360K, I would estimate taxes to be at about 271$ per month. Does that help?

According to Seattle's Database on taxes. I would probably be safe at putting you at around 271 per month in taxes for an estimate. Does that help?

As a Mortgage Professional, I use 1.25% of the sales price as a rough estimate before an actual property is identified.

Both James and Rachel are right. If you want a more thorough explanation of Seattle taxes, as well as surrounding areas, here is a link that offers a great breakdown: http://www.metrokc.gov/exec/taxes/

Straight property tax is $11.15 per $1000 of ASSESSED value (as James noted, this is different and usually a lower amount then appraised value). However, there can be local assessments added to this rate, which accounts for the 1.1%-1.3% range to which Rachel referred in her posting below.

Property taxes in King county are calculated based on a levy rate. In Seattle that levy rate ranges from 9.3 to 11.3. You multiply this with the assessed value of the house (divided by a 1000) and you'll get an estimated figure for taxes. I just pulled up Single Family Homes sold in the last 6 months with a Seattle address and the median price is $460k. ...then (460,000 / 1000) * 9.3 = $4278 ... If the levy rate is 11.3 , ...then it's $5198.
.... one thing to note...i based this on actual sales data (market values) ..not assessed values. Assessed values have traditionally always been lower than market value...though counties are working to correct that. For instance, Snohomish county has gone to an annual assessment and their assessed values now are much closer ...if not really close to being market value. Anyhow, this should give you a good idea.
Check the web reference link. At the bottom of the page has a link to the tax rates in king county.
