Unless this property has been previously viewed it will be impossible to determine what condition it is in in the interior. I would suggest to make an appointment to view with either the listing brokerage or with your own agent AND a Contractor if you are seriously interested in this home to determine the extend of work needed if any.

In Michigan, real estate professionals can only represent your best interests (as a buyer) under a signed buyers agency agreement. I suggest finding out more about this before proceeding, you may be providing information to the seller that would cause you to pay more for a property.
Just to add to Liz's excellent comment about bringing a contractor.... Most real estate professionals are not experts in construction or certified home inspectors. We can relay our opinions about a homes condition, but you must do your own Due Diligence by hiring professionals in these fields to make the final decision. Most real estate contracts will include a clause stating this in better language.
