Any advice on starting a new career in RE?

Asked by Al, 94015 Mon Jan 26, 2009

Economy is bad,
my high-tech co. is downsizing and I am considering career change.

I've called around a few RE agencies and they told me they would not hire me till I get my RE licence.
Which is fair.
However,
none of them would make any recommendations about which schools to go to get a licence.

After researching the web,
I narrowed down to 2 choices:

http://easy2pass.com/ and http://www.reschool.com/

Would you recommend any of them?

How do I go about selecting the agency after I pass the exam and get the license?

What kind of questions should I be asking before I join?

Also,
if someone been in business for awhile
what kind of things would you recommend I do and I don't do when starting out?

Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You are asking all of the right questions. 92 % of the people who get a license drop out within one year. The biggest problem is they hope the business will come to them which it will not. You have to set up good systems rather than chase individual deals. There is a perfect book for you. Go to http://www.UncleDavesRealEstate.com His website will tell you what is in his book, but it is easy to read and is perfect for you. it covers all of the questions that you asked and more. Good Luck
