Hi Michell, In the $500 - $600k price range, you could purchase a smaller unit on the sand, if you didn't mind a rather high HOA. The same price would buy you one of Downtown Long Beach's fabulous new lofts, probably mid-sized, or a lovely town-home inland just a bit Long Beach is very diverse. It is not possible to say how much will buy how many square feet, without considering which areas you would be interested in. I can tell you that this price could buy you a VERY nice condo in the Long Beach area.
There is actually a good amount of inventory on the market in Long Beach for a condo in that price range. Factor is going to be location, ocean view, condition of unit, and so on. They range in size from about 800 sq ft up to about 1800 sq ft. For example, a 2 bedroom 2 bath 1115 sq ft in a new building in prime downtown location with ocean views is on the market asking $589,000.
