Cutchogue is also the center of the North Fork Wine Country where there are more than 10 wineries in walking distance.

Cutchogue is on record as the sunniest town in New York State (and it certainly was today!). It is one of many local "Ogs." There's Cutchogue (cut-chog), Aquebogue (aqua-bog) or some people pronounce it (acker-bog), and a real challenge afurther "up-island", there's Hauppauge (hoppog). These are all derived from American Indian names. Also, when here, you are not "in" Long Island, you are "on" Long Island.

If you visit, you'll either love the "flavor", or not- but it's worth the trip to find out!

Cutchogue is a quaint hamlet on the North Fork of Eastern long Island and is part of Southold town.. Lots of Wineries. The name comes from the Corchaug native americans. Nassau Point is a breath taking penninsula that sticks out into the Peconic Bay.
