Cutchogue is on record as the sunniest town in New York State (and it certainly was today!). It is one of many local "Ogs." There's Cutchogue (cut-chog), Aquebogue (aqua-bog) or some people pronounce it (acker-bog), and a real challenge afurther "up-island", there's Hauppauge (hoppog). These are all derived from American Indian names. Also, when here, you are not "in" Long Island, you are "on" Long Island.
Cutchogue is a quaint hamlet on the North Fork of Eastern long Island and is part of Southold town.. Lots of Wineries. The name comes from the Corchaug native americans. Nassau Point is a breath taking penninsula that sticks out into the Peconic Bay.
