How easy it to get around Atwater with public transportation (buses, trains, subways, etc)?

Is it possible to live in this city without a car?

Atwater has a bus service as a public transportation and that is sponsored by Merced County Transit. It consists of three routes, Route 7, Route 8, and Route 16. Route 7 & 8 just basically goes from Merced thru Atwater via Bellevue Rd to Livingston. If you need to get around in Atwater, Route 16 is the way to go. That will take you to stops like Atwater Medical, Library, City Hall, and the WIC office. For those that are handicapped, Senior Citizens, or does not live close to a bus stop can use an alternative public transportation like Dial-A-Ride. You give them a call and they will pick you up from home and take you to your destination.
