While pondering your question, we find it difficult to relate to the concept of a"sense of strong community." It's one of those commonly referred to terms that's definition is left to the descression of the individual.

People buy property for a lot of reasons: a feeling of identity, safety, schools districts, investment value, amenities, convenience to employment, proximity to social and cultural activities, friends and relatives etc.

If this in some way relates to a "sense of strong community" we think for most it is an important consideration.

If you look at pride of ownership is shown based on home owners maintaining there entire yard including back alley. Smaller community usually have strong neighbors who help each other out.
