You've been asking about homes in U City and Richmond Heights, are you planning a move from Kansas area to the St Louis area soon? The areas that you are looking at, would lend themselves to quickly getting on 40/64 to get around our fair city (once the 40/64 construction is complete) and are close to our Clayton (financial district and County seat) as well as the downtown areas. but in reality, the locations you are asking about are central enough that you can get just about anywhere in a reasonable time frame from them.
Is there something in particular that you are looking for that one of us who is local can help you find? While Trulia has most of the St Louis listings, it doesn't have all of them, so if you want something specific and are on a timeline, let one of us know and we'll help you find it. There are so wonderful homes on the market at the moment in these areas. You should note that the Clayton area is one that is continuing to increase in value and has a very steady growth pattern. The Maplewood/Richmond Heights area is one where the value has dropped in some sections, but it is having a renaisance in the downtown areas of Maplewood and Richmond Heights (note that these two small communities joined forces for their school district which is why we often lump them together as an area for real estate purposes) and that is expected to continue.
These are older areas, so any new construction will be in-fill where it is either single homes built on a lot that has been vacant for years, or where an existing home has been torn down in order to build a new homes on it, in which case, they typically will be building a more expensive home or high density housing on the land
