$130-150 home in Orlando?

Asked by Elisabeth, Houston, TX Fri Jan 2, 2009

Hi. My family is moving to Orlando in the spring. (It has changed from Tampa, for anyone who has seen my earlier question.) My husband's job will actually be on the north side in Maitland. We would like to buy a home, but our price range is on the low side; we'd like to stay below $150. Can anyone recommend some family friendly neighborhoods in that price range? Thanks in advance.

I would recommend finding a bank owned property in the Lake Mary area. Lake Mary real estate got real hot and people bought above there means, and now some great 3/2 family homes are coming back on the market around 175k. With the right real estate agent and negotiator you can probably find get of these bank owned properties around 150k! It will probably need a little bit of work like new floors, paint, etc. but that is the fun stuff that comes with home ownership. I would visit http://www.bankownedhomesorlando.com if your interested.

Welcome to Central Florida.
North of Maitland, That would be Seminole County. Good school district!
Winter Springs.
Winter Park
All are nice areas and quite affordable.
Google these towns and get familiar with the area.

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

I have a feeling you are going to get several response to this one. One of the better priced neighborhoods in your price range is just south of Downtown Orlando. It is in the 32806 zipcode. This puts you 10 minutes from downtown Orlando and about 25 minutes from Maitland in morning traffic. This is a quiet residential neighborhood and about 10 minutes to all major highways including I-4, 408 and 528. I have included 11 homes in the link below.

If you want a more specific search I can set it up for you or you can go to my website at http://www.CallFredrik.com to search homes on your own.

I have a 3/2 home located in Lake Mary, it's a short sale, great location, schools and just a short hop to Maitland (2 exits) voted the 4th best city in the U.S. see it on my website http://two4oneoforlando.com look for office listings and it's 392 Morning Glory

If you started soon it would be available by the time you need it.

Also other neighborhood areas would be Longwood, Maitland, Apopka, Debary

Hi Elisabeth,
Good News, you are coming to the Orlando/Central Florida/Maitland area at the best time. There are many homes available at the lowest prices in years with finance rates at their lowest as well. When I work with Buyers I like to get to know their needs; size of home, ammenities etc and then proceed to locate the best home at the price range indicated. You will get many responses from Realtors on this site. I hope you have the time to interview or speak to a few to find the best fit for you. I suggest you try phone, email or websites to start a dialoque. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
