Hi, I'm Sue Holt with Watson Realty. Yes, you'll need a current pre-approval letter from a lender. Are you working with a Realtor in the purchase of the short sale home? If so, that person should be able to refer you to several lenders. If not, you're welcome to call @904-923-1094 or email me at: Sue@SueHoltAdvantage.com. I hope this helps!
You do need a current pre-approval letter in order to put an offer in on a short sale. If you would like assistance in finding a home or getting approved give me a call..

A current pre-approval letter will be to your advantage. Concerning whether or not the seller will accept the old approval, probably not. In the world of short sales the lender has the last word and how well the transaction goes for a buyer depends in part on the listing agent and loss mitigation department at the lender's office.
If you would like assistance determining the fate of any offer you have pending on a short sale or any questions in general about real estate or mortgages, feel free to email me at email@example.com or call me at 904-710-1574
Happy New Year,
