Search local public records..
There are other ways and I'm sure others will share with you, but this should help you get started, Dunes
Check the blog link below - it may be helpful to you in locating foreclosures other than through RealtyTrac.
Currently, most banks are putting their REOs (Real Estate Owner foreclosures) on the local MLS - they've found it's the best way to get them sold. If properties don't sell in a timely fashion, then they go to auction. If you want to get access to foreclosed homes before they go to the MLS, you need to start investigating the auctions on the courthouse steps. And a warning – it IS NOT a non-investor friendly environment.
Have you tried http://www.bidselect.com? It's a free site. It's not 100% comprehensive, but it's a good place to start.
If you have any questions about the site or how to bid on the HUD homes listed, feel free to contract my buyer's specialist, Gina, at firstname.lastname@example.org. She has years of experience working with buyers in obtaining foreclosures.
