Hey Denise,

Hope you come to Charlotte! I am from the Madison area and have a home in Fort Myers, so I know where you are coming from! It isn't as warm here as Florida, by a 20 degree stretch, but you will never feel like your in West Bend! Consider renting for 6 months before you make a decision here. There are many different sides to the area, and it took me a while before I appreciated what one area had to offer over another. Hey, good luck to you, it is a great city. There are a large group of Wisconsin expatriots in the area that gather to watch Wisconsin sports so send me a note if you end up here!

There are number of opportunities to rent to own. Your best bet is to work with a buyers agent that can research these homes for you based on what you are looking for... Many homes have been on the market for some time and Sellers are starting to consider lease option or just renting.. I would love to assist you if you would ike. Visit our website at http://www.carolina-real-estate com or call me on my mobile at 704-607-7514 Look forward to hearing from you.. We have many search engines that I can pass on to you or start up an automatic search so that you can track properties on your own .. What ever would work best for you and your family.

I must be working too hard or something...In my post below, I mentioned I knew of two new homes that were available lease to own that were West of Charlotte. That should have been EAST of Charlotte. I appologize.

Hi Denise,

I use to live in Hudson, WI and in Mondovi, WI (near Eau Claire). I would be more than willing to assist you with you rent to own or option to buy. Each is a separate entity and the final paperwork for each is drawn up by an attorney. We do not use a specific NC Real Estate Form for this type of transaction, but hammer out all the details for you with the seller and still follow you through to the signing of the agreement.

As a matter of fact, there is a nice single family home bungalow on the street where I live in Charlotte, a three bedroom, 2 bath, fenced, and only 4 miles from uptown, for under 130K

I would be happy to assist you in your move. Please feel free to email me at

Hi Denise,
There are many homes for rent in the Charlotte area right now so you shouldn't have a hard time finding something that will suit your needs. Many folks are choosing to look at lease purchases or lease options. There are also many sellers who are willing to discuss this as an option as well - a good Realtor will be able to help you decifer all of the information and options as well as "dig down" and help find these homes for you as well that are in our MLS. Please feel free to touch base with me about your needs and I will happily listen to your needs and research your options! Welcome to Charlotte!

I know of two brand new 4 br homes on a Fred Couples golf course that are lease with an option to own in beautiful Chatham County (West of Charlotte and just South of Chapel Hill) if you are flexible on your location.……

I believe that you should be able to find something that would allow options in this market. It is a buyers market. Sellers are very motivated and I have many homes that are offering a lease /purchase option. If you know the area you would like to live, please drop me an email and I would be glad to assist you... Well Denise, you have targeted a great place to live! Charlotte is terrific. You should not have a hard time finding a place to rent to own... or to arrange and option to buy. In fact there are companies in town that will actually work with you for you to find the perfect home that you DO want to buy. They will purchase it and set up a lease option for you to purchase it in a year or two ... on your time table.
We can set up a search for you to see houses that are currently offered with lease purchases or rent to own.
