Does an association have the right to deny a rental application?

Asked by Marlene, Plantation, FL Wed Dec 31, 2008

I don't have the best credit, however I owe no money to past landlords and have a great track record in renting. According to 718 statues, an condo association has no right to deny my application, correct?

Hi Marlene,

Sorry to hear you got turned down on an application for approval on a condominium association. These associations have a screening process and guidelines and do deny applications from time to time.

For more information or if you believe there was wrongdoing, please refer to the Division of Florida Condominiums. I have added a link to their page below.

Good luck to you and let me know if you need any help.
