I'll tell you what, you pick a good agent to show you Punta Gorda, and then give me a call and I will show you Cape Coral. When we are finished you can make the call, but do yourself a favor and take the opportunity to look at both areas and have someone who can answer all of your questions, then when you make a decision you will have made an educated decision.

Hi Emma,
I am here in Punta Gorda and loving it. Check out my blog about Punta Gorda, hopefully that will shed some light. As my fellow agents have said, you need to visit both areas. I am very partial to Punta Gorda. Do plan to visit and give me a call. I would love to take you around and show you why I chose Punta Gorda.
For any more information, please feel free to give me a call or email me.
It is most important to make an educated decision. A choice that's right for you. So when you see both areas hopefully, you'll find what's right for you.

Good luck & Happy Holidays.

The most obvious answer to me is that Cape Coral has a larger more city-like feel and Punta Gorda a bit more of a small-town. Both communities have some excellent values right now!

Our website is a great place to start in familiarizing yourself with the Cape Coral market. Good luck in your search.

Hi Emma,

As you can probably tell from the responses, most of us have strong civic pride and think our little corner of paradise is the best. But your question wasn't, which town is better?, it was, what's the difference?. This is also a subjective question and the answer is totally up to you alone and what you are looking for. The link below can help you determine what matters most to you in selecting a neighborhood. Good luck shopping!

Best regards, Tom

It is an unfair comparisson to make because the difference in population and the related services. They are both reputable boating areas but come up short on the availability of nearby beaches.

The major differences, as we see them are difference is size and population. Thus, there is much less available in terms of shopping, recreational facilities, and social & cultural offerings in Punta Gorda.

Hello Emma,
Just like Jay and Jesse stated, take a day or more to look at both. I would be happy to show you Cape Coral, and if you need the name of a Realtor that works in Punta Gorda, I could provide you with that as well.
Have a wonderful day,

The main difference between Cape Coral and Punta Gorda is population/size. According to the U.S. Census report from 2000, Cape Coral had a population of 102,286 and Punta Gorda had a population of 14,344.

If you are interested in boating or fishing activities, Punta Gorda has Charlotte Harbor which is much larger than the Caloosahatchee River between Cape Coral and Fort Myers.

You might want to consider Port Charlotte, which is also on Charlotte Harbor.

That is something you really should take a day to go and decide for yourself. All areas have positives and negatives.......use a buyers agent to help you navigate the area and negotiate you the best deal.

Good luck!.......you will love the opportunities available right now!
