House sale information for nonrealtors.

Asked by JosephHW, 97439 Tue Dec 16, 2008

I am not a realltor. What sources are available to me to find out which homes have sold in my area, the sale price, and both the listing and selling broker? I would be willing to subscribe to a service if one was available.

Ludwigw, Here's a place you can see some of the homes sold in your area..sales price..

http://www.trulia.com/sold/07920_zip/ You can try..http://www.homes.com/Content/Sold-Homes-Prices.cfm and.. http://www.nj.com/realestate/homesales/

All home sales ae public records. You can use the following link to look up any Land Records & Deeds in NJ by county or zip. Unfortunately, agent information is not available. Another source is a Local Weekly Newspaper as I see others have suggested.

Good morning, I'm biased, but I think that http://www.Basking-Ridge-Real-Estate.com is the BEST site for sold information and analysis of the data. On that site you can also register to receive listing alerts - which can include information on SOLD properties, when they go under contract and/or when they close.

You'll find Market Statistics and Commentary as well as What's Sold by Community for Basking Ridge as well as other Somerset County communities at http://www.feenick.com - just click on LOCAL MARKET COMMENTARY.

You can order a market snapshot from my website. I don't think it will give you the agent info, though. It will provide currently listed and closed sales with price info. It will be delivered to you via email once a month is you'd like. Free of charge, of course. Just a service I provide.

Realtor.com (the official site of the National Association of Realtors> recently changed it's website. Now you can find information about sold homes.

For example, I put in your zip code (07920) and got this result:
http://www.realtor.com/homevalues/?address=07920#NEXHASHaddr…

Scroll down, and click on the tab titled "Recently Sold".

It does not have the listing and selling broker, however.

Have you contacted your local realtor association? Their multiple listing service may have a search function that can be used by the public, and it may display the listing and selling brokers. Different MLS's have different rules, however, as to what information is publicly displayed.

Hi -

There are few sites, if any that offer that information.
Maybe the Middlesex county MLS public site may be helpful.

http://www.middlesexcountymls.com/index.htm

Try that.. it sounds as though you want to do what a realtor does, but you do not want one. Which is fine.
I am not sure if there is a subscription service available to you that can give you what you want.

But, being the good Realtor that I am..... :)

When the time comes to list your home for sale.. or looking to purchase that home.

Call me.

Ludwigw: Most papers have advertisements of available homes. Usually their list prices are posted. The papers also occasionally post county records of transactions. Actual sales prices are listed there.

We have various Multiple Listing Services (MLS) that cover all these facts in great detail. You have to be a professional to be able to get them but the listings are translated to sites such as Trulia and Realtor.com.

Other than that, individual agents will be glad to work with you if you have an interest in buying or selling a house. Obviously, your interest has to be active to keep an agent interested as well.

Most Realtors offer that service to anyone who wants it. They have a monthly Newsletter and can also keep you posted on what has sold, how many days homes are on the market. Some Realtors have what is called the Market Snapshot, which gives you a map of your neighborhood, with all the homes for sale marked in red and all the homes that recently sold marked in green. Then they have a list of the addresses and how many days they were on the market and the price they sold for. I would check local Realtors and find one that you like and feel comfortable with and they will send you monthly or weekly information totally free. I wish I could help you however I am in Southlake TX. Good Luck!
