We found a property foreclosed by Countrywide. It is not on the market yet. Can we work directly with them?

The banks will never deal with you directly, period. If the home wasn't sold on the court house steps, it will go into the lenders inventory, then they will assign it to an agent who is on their list.

If you want to keep tabs on the home, let me know.

Absolutely, I agree with Glenn. You are better off working with a realtor on dealing with your transaction. if you are worried about paying any fees paid to realtors, you don't have to worry about it, that will be paid by Countrywide (if they are bank that own it) . If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at cristyweg@yahoo.com.

Most likely it has already been assigned to a realtor and even if you happened to get through to the right person they will tell you to contact their realtor. This is from what I've seen and experienced, I don't know if its always true.
