Are agents teaming up to share cost and time?

Asked by Paul Valles, Sherman Oaks, CA Fri Oct 17, 2008

I have been running my brokerage, I still have a couple of wholesale lenders, I use to build houses in Sherman oaks. My main focus is buying and selling real estate for high end and first time home buyers. The high end has slowed, but I’m seeing multiple offers on the lower end. What is the advantage of working for a well known broker and partner up with other agents?

I and my office recently made the move to a bigger Mortgage company even though my partner has his brokers license. Lenders are cutting out the small brokers. My new company does cross marketing with realtors their bread and butter and we the loan officer pay for it. I have recently added a few agents because of this and my pipeline is picking up. In this market realtors and mortgage/loan officers need each other more than ever. Realtors need to know the loan will go through and Loan officer need Realtor that can get their offers accepted. Sharing marketing cost is one thing, but having a proven closing team is the other. My 2 cents let me know if I can help you or anybody else.
