Asked by Sonja, Jersey City, NJ Sat Aug 23, 2008

HI! I'm looking to either sell or rent my home. It's located closed to the Path at Journal Square. Anyone who can help me?

Hi Sonja,

The prices in JSQ are pretty stable, although, as in just about every area in Hudson County, the prices are lower than they were in 2005-6. Rents are also fairly stable. You didn't mention why you ask. If you are moving for job reasons, and have relocation assistance, there's a good chance selling is the better option for you. The same goes if you are trading up. If your goal is to build an investment portfolio, then you'd want to rent. Please feel free to contact me directly. I've been selling in the Journal Square area for many years.
