Hello There! You should check out new homes inFuquay Varina, it is only 38 miles from Ft.Bragg, and I have had a lot of people come to my neighborhood that have been impressed by the quality of construction and interior details/custom features throughout for the price. Plus it is in between Fort Bragg and Raleigh/Cary/Research Triangle Park, not to mention the Wake County school district is also very desirable! Check out the website below to get a listing of some communities in the Fuquay Varina area, I work at Summerdale!

Hi, Fayetteville NC is a great place to live and has grown in all directions in the last five years. The first thing you will want to do is to get pre-qualified with a local mortgage lender. I have found it beneficial to work with a mortgage lender who is local to get to closing on time. I work with several great companies on a regular basis and can send you a list if you are in need of a referral. The mortgage person will be able to determine how much you can afford. She can tell you what your payment will be for differnent sales prices and you can see what will comfortably fit in your budget. Then make a list with your family of your wants and needs. Give the list to your Realtor and let her find the properties for you, send them to your email. Rate them, and that will help her narrow her search to find your perfect places to see when you get to Fayetteville. Real Estate agents are not allowed to steer you to a certain school, so we will avoid the questions and refer you to school websites to look at test scores. Test scores do not tell you everything about a school. I live in the Long Hill/ Pine Forest school district and my children have done very well. If you have any more questions please call me or email me. 910.916.5547

Hi, we are also a military family. We have lived in Fayetteville for 13 years. Of course the amount you can spend will determine the neighborhood you may want to live in. We live in a subdivison named Kingsford in the 28314 zip code. This has been an excellent location for us as it is near the mall, close to downtown and close to Fort Bragg. As far as schools, we are in the Terry Sanford high school district and we are also very close to several private schools. Homes in our neighborhood have been selling for around $128.00 and up per square foot. We are going to be selling our home in the near future to move to a different post. We have enjoyed our time in Fayetteville and love our home and neighborhood. Best wishes on your home search and future move.

An area I don't see mentioned is Sanford/West Sanford or Lillington. Many military families choose either city because they are about halfway between Raleigh and Fort Bragg, so there is good access to both the medical and other facilities on the base as well as all the cultural and job opportunities that the Raleigh area has to offer. In this general area, you may also find larger lot sizes and a little lower home prices. Let us know what your general budget is, and I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions for specific neighborhoods to check out.

Hi - We are a military family who are originally from New England. When we decded to buy a home a few years ago we fell in love with the Pinehurst Southrn Pines area. (Pinehurst zip is 28374 - Southern Pines zip 28387). My husband commutes to Bragg each day and it takes him 45 min. using the back roads. There are good buys to be had and good opurtunities for rentals. We bought in an area called Village Acres in Pinehurst. Good luck with the move.
