The term "foreclosure" is vague in regards to ownership status of the home. Pre-foreclosure would generally define a home that has not gone to foreclosure sale yet but a date has been scheduled and a foreclosure would typically mean that a home has gone to sale and is now lender or privately owned through a trustee's deed of sale. To determine this fact you could obviously contact a Realtor to pull title on the property for you, you can check with the county tax assessor's office and review the tax rolls (they have an online service for this) or go the county and pick a copy of the Notice of Trustee's sale document that shows the property address, date, time of the sale or if the sale has already occured. These documents are public record and you are entitled. You'll see them posted in the newspaper all the time to give you an example of how critical it is that the public gain knowledge of just this type of situation. Good luck. I hope I helped a little.

Hi Greg,

I certainly can find out for you if a home is in foreclosure or pre-foreclosure for you. It is not hard to do! It actually would take only 10-15 minutes to get a report back. All I would need is the property address. If you want you can email it to me at calljoan4homes@aol.com. Let me know how I can help you!

Kind regards,

Hi there Greg, It depends on where you are looking. But a tax check and prelim report from a title company will help you. A realtor can help you with this
If you drop me a line with the address of the home you are considering I can help pull some reports for you, that is if you have not already hired a realtor to help you.

Hi Greg,

If you are looking at Realtor.com, then it should say that it is in foreclosure. Better yet, talk to one of your trusted agents who will give you more info on the property or other properties in the area. Realtors will be happy to help you out and ultimately, earn your business.
Good Luck,

Laarni
