My wife and I are looking for a friendly active community . Where people like to dance , play cards, travel and have fun and make friends. We have grandchildren that live in Hartsdale NY that we want to watch grow up . So we want to stay close, we live in Queens NY now. Any advice about the retirement communities in monroe would be greatly appreciated. We love oldie groups and entertainment as well as group activities. We ARE NOT LOOKING cliqish communities.

A great place to be is in the quiet area of the French Quarter....where most of the residents live. There is a great community of "non-cliqish folks from around the world...and lots of stories to be told. Living in the Quarter is like a cross between South America and Paris, wrapped up in a West Indian flavor.
