Would my fathers family have any right to stop the sell of this land? They did not offer to sell it back to my fathers family. My uncle got this land from my grandfater. So they did not buy this land together it was given to them. My uncle when he was alive told several different neices and newphews he wanted them to have the land. If a person's interest passed by one of these methods to their spouse, then at the spouses' death the property will pass though the spouse through one of the above methods. Probate records are public. Check and see what the Will of your uncle and your aunt contains or if there was a trust or if the property passed by statute.
