In other words, a $350,000 home will have a $6700 yearly tax bill, per assessed value, not sales value. On the other hand, a home in Chatham County outside of city limits in the Hope fire district has a tax rate of .00723, or a $2530 yearly tax bill on a $350,000 assessed value. There are some excellent schools in Chatham County, like Silk Hope Elementary which is a Charter school.
