A great way to find single family homes for rent is by looking through our local paper, The Journal and Courier. If you are currently not living in the area you can search the website, jconline.com. Another place you can look is purdueexponent.org. Most house rentals don't advertise as much as apartments. Most have signs in the yards of the rentals. You can also google management companies in Lafayette/West Lafayette and find info. There are many management companies in the area that have websites.
