I am hearing different opinions of the best places to look.

My wife and I have a 4 and a 14 year old and quality schools with advanced programs are very important. Would you recommend looking in Kernersville, High Point or I heard Colfax.? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer by Kelly

It looks like we are swapping areas (I'm moving to GA)! I can't comment on the schools as I don't have school age children, but I will tell you what was shared with me when I moved her three years ago. At that time, some residents were not pleased with the "High Point Choice" plan in High Point. I don't know the details, but you may want to Google High Point Choice. I'm not sure if that is still in place, but it might be a good place to check out. Also, check out Great Schools (www.greatschools.net). I have a home for sale that has a Winston-Salem address, but is linked to Kernersville area schools (Sedge Garden, Southeast, and Glenn). Good luck on your search!

Answer by Sandee Hamrick

We can give you the web sites for Forsyth and Guilford County Schools that's usually the best way. You can look up the performance and quality of the schools here is Forsyth Cty website wsfcs.k12.nc.us and here is Guildford Cty's www.gcsnc.com. Let us know if we can be of further help.
