I have seen instances in GA where homeowners have done this. Contact a reputable contractor who specializes in stucco in your area.

To do it right, I would think that they would first wrap the exterior with a metal mesh or base material secured with masonry nails. Then, 2, 3, or more coats of stucco would be applied with a trowel. Stucco can be tinted with color and provide a new look for your home's exterior.
