Inventory of homes for sale is down and more buyers are looking for new homes. These are indicators that things are turning around.
I'd be happy to provide you with statistics and recent sales information. Just drop me a line.

If you only looked at the property tax I think you may be miss led. Our 2009 taxes were $900 to the county and $5,900 to the school. We have no township property tax in East Nottingham, PA - right outside Oxford Boro. We just appealed our taxes and for 2010 the assessment went from 212,430 to 143,100. Property tax in PA is different than what I am use to being from NJ. PA has a value called a common level ratio (clr) which gets set by the state each year. 2009 and 2010 it is 53% in 2007 and 2008 it was 51.7/8%. Your assessed value is based on market value x clr. We bought our home last year for $285,000 and 53% is less than by current assessment of 212,430 so we appealed and for a $25 county fee and $300 appraisals fee - the tax board accepted our appraisal report of 270,000 x 53% = 143,100. Using 2009 millage rates its is over $2,800 in property tax savings. When I compare this to my NJ property tax at a per sq foot value - PA is a deal! Also know the Oxford School District has built new school buildings and did complete makeovers of the older buildings so at least we do see something for the money. Also know PA is a flat tax state - do not get a lot (next to no) deductions and a tax rate of 3.07% plus NO STATE INCOME TAX on qualified retirement plans.

Answer by Tbchampions

Well, I'm one customer lost. Was going to make an offer today on a house in Oxford until I caught wind that the taxes on the house really weren't some wild mistake. Sorry, but I'm not paying $650 a month on a fairly modest house for school taxes. Unbelievable. I'm surprised that they can sell a single house in Oxford -- or Chester county, if it's the same all through the county) -- with such outrageous taxes.
