I know im dealing with the bank and my realtor adivised that this would be sufficient because these things can take a while.

Answer by Britta Hinze

I have never had a bank respond to a short sale offer in less than a month. I think 2 weeks is unrealistic. You should ask your Realtor to find out where the sellers are in the short sale process. If the sellers have not even submitted all the documentation to have their lender approve them to sell the home as a short sale you will be waiting a long time. Giving the short sale lender a 2 week deadline does not really mean anything to them. They will respond to you on their own timeline.

Answer by Kat

Please be aware, banks are going as fast as they can to deal with all the reo/short sales on the market however it may take months to get an answer just because of timelines the banks have to follow, submission investor reviews ect.. as a concerned person i would hate for someone to miss a deal if they really ,really wanted the property.ask your realtor what would be a fair timeline for an reo in your case.
still sounds strange, 2 weeks is not a long period for investor reviews on the west coast it is practicaly unheard of.
