However, there is a $25,000 lien on the property to the county which must be paid upon the sale of the property. We were told that we cannot file the Quit Claim Deed until this lien is paid off and we do not want to get a loan to do this (we would rather wait until the house is sold). My personal opinion, the estate will have to pay the lien. Because there may be a time limit, I suggest getting this matter resolved ASAP Once there is clear Title to the property, I suggest interviewing at least 3 local real estate professionals.
