His daughter manages alot of the business as well. He doesn't have much contact directly with the buyer. I found him to be honest to deal with. The house turned out nicely. I asked for alot of upgrades and he asked that I pay up front because some people had gotten upgrades and then their loans fell through and Mr. Pinkley was stuck trying to sell a house that had upgrades which increased the price over the prices of the other houses in the neighborhood. Usually resulting in a loss for him. This didn't bother me, I felt that if I treated him fairly he would deal likewise with me, and he did. He also works with Waters Realty in Bentonville and I think Don has alot of his houses listed in Bella Vista. The only thing I found discouraging was that there were limits to the choices as far as flooring. Originally I wanted stained concrete and he wouldn't do that. However, I'm very happy with the laminate hardwood I had installed instead. Not overly impressed by the tile choices - I would have preferred a higher quality tile, but I have it in limited spaces and I'll eventually replace it with an upgraded slate tile. However, he did go the extra mile for me with the city inspectors because I wanted a greenhouse placed in a certain spot and it took alot of negotiation on Mr. Pinkley's part to get it done.

Answer by Judy Luna

I've not ever had a transaction with him, but he's been around for years. I think he builds a pretty good house. He generally doesn't like to list with realtors, but rather sell his homes directly to the public. But if you do want representation to help you negotiate, you could probably have a buyer agent. A buyer agent can help prevent you from paying too much.
