Depends on your needs, Florida property taxes are significantly higher but Florida has no personal income tax and no sales tax on food items. Alabama has some of the lowest property taxes in the nation. There is a larger selection of homes & condos in Orange Beach vs. Perdido Key. If selling, any time is a good time to list. Even if the season is slower, the right buyers might be looking then. It's all about timing, so you don't want to be wasting time trying to anticipate the demand curve.
If buying, I recommend getting set up for automatic notifications of what's available in your price range and desired areas so when the right unit for you pops up, you're ready to jump on it.
Whatever the history has been, all real estate rules in our area have been turned on their heads in the past several months and I anticipate that continuing.
