SInce you didn't mention a specific rental I can't be specific with an answer. However it really depends on what you consider "high rent" , where the rental is, and how in demand rentals are in a specific area. The more demand the higher the rent amounts.... more

I am happy to answer this, as a longtime Teaneck resident of over 30 years who has also served on the local board of education for 12 years and raised four children in the Teaneck Public Schools. Teaneck has one public high school, serving grades 9-12, which is located on Queen Anne Road by Route 4 south. It is a terrific college-track high school with many multilevel classes, extracurricular clubs and sports, and programs for kids at all learning levels... I am certain you will be more than pleased with the curriculum, highly-trained teaching and administrative staff, and opportunities for your children entering high school. You can get more information at the offices of the Board of Education at 1 Merrison St, Teaneck (the building sits on Teaneck Road near the town library, but the front door is on the corner of Broad and Merrison Sts.

Yours is a common question, and unfortunately, one we cannot directly answer. Fair Housing laws prohibit any form of discrimination and steering toward or away from any neighborhood. Promoting one area over another because of it's school district may be construed as a form of steering.
What we can do, though, is provide you some excellent resources that provide school ratings, as well as feedback from students and parents. Since what makes a good school can be subjective, it is great to look at the list of the schools offerings also. Where one person may value college prep, another may value arts or theater or sports programs.
Here are some great links that will give you a lot of info:

Hope this helps!
PS......I see you used the zip code. I was going to suggest that. You can delete your other questions, which will eliminate the duplicate posts. I put my answer here already and there were no other posts on the others.... more
There are 70 towns in Bergen County, and each has their own elementary district (some are K-12, others K-8, etc.) If you are working with a realtor, and have focused on different towns, the realtor can find out just what the deal is for each community. I can share with you that more communities are offering full-day kindergarten along with working parents programs or after-school childcare available for an additional fee. Pre-K programs are more scarce, with some programs more focused on at risk students or those with special needs. There are of course a large variety of privatge or parochial pre-K programs.
Teaneck, for instance, has full day public school kindergarten housed in one primary-based school, Bryant, along with Pre-K for about 80-100 students. Then the kids go on to one of three 1-4 schools depending on where they live in town. Teaneck also has a very good town-run full day pre-K program at their recreation center, partially subsidized by the town with the rest of the cost born by parents, and there are a number of other options either in houses of worship or privately run in Teaneck and surrounding communities.... more
I don't think there are any "undesirable sections in Rutherford" That said, after this last big storm the flood lines have defiantly been redrawn... now while there are some great deals on houses in the flood zone, not everyone wants to live there.... more

I do not have any personal experience with the school system in New Milford. I do have friends whose children have grown up in New Milford and attended their public school system from Kindergarten thru high school. They have all been very satisfied with the school system and their children have moved on the excellent colleges, receiving scholarships, etc. For more information, please go to the link I have supplied below where you can get more specific information about all of the public schools in New Milford.
