Have you submitted an application to rent? Many landlords won't entertain an application with any prior evictions, before you start paying application fees, make sure you ask if they're willing to look at your application. Consider including an explanation of your circumstances and how you've improved your financial situation.

Only landlords accept hasa & other government programs - not realtors. The issue is landlords need to meet requirements to accept renter's like you and they don't want to spend money doing so or go thru the process. You need to get your name on the waiting list for NYC Housing or contact them for a list of rentals. Realtors will not work with you because they don't get paid much and the time involved is not worth it. There is a NYC housing project on Williamsbridge Rd. & Waring Ave. in the Bronx that is in a relatively good neighborhood. The office is on Waring ave. at the corner of Bronxwood across from Christopher Columbus High School. My father in law lived there so I'm familiar with it.... more
