The only thing that can be done is to stop all contact with the scam artist. I have came across many on this web-site as well as other and tried reporting to TRULIA however they don't seem to want to do anything about bad listings even when the listing is putting people in jeopardy. I asked them to take a land-lords listing down that had a listing up in Wichita KS and still does, that made an appointment with my family and then rented the house out. Good thing is we are not interested in the neighborhood anymore. To much crime for us. I will just add another landlord name to my list that I will never call again.
With Internet crime everywhere it seems to me that some of the responsibility lies with the web-site hosts themselves if they are contacted about what is on the site and that it is misleading the general public into a crime. Can they not at least try to stop some of the scam artist from leading the every day renter into a crime. IS IT THAT HARD TO CONTACT THE POSTER AND ASK!
