It depends on where you're looking to buy. There are detached home communities and there are Townhome/Condo communities. Some have professionally run associations and neighborhood run associations. Each will have it's own set of rules and regs. However, generally speaking...for detached homes there aren't any restrictions that I am aware of. You are required to have a Village inspection though. Hi Cathy, welcome to the nighborhood, live just down the street. I've always "ballparked" my taxes for next year at 2.5%. The trick is gauging what your home will be worth and saving the tax post cards you get form the county. Watch those SSA's that Al spoke about. Many future buyers will want to stay away from those, so consider future resale.
Wauconda is good if you stay in the Fremont School Dist #79. I will be placing my home in Mundelein up for sale. 5 bedroom 3.5 bath 2 car garage. Walking distance to the high school. Everything is updated except the master bath. If there are no realtors involved we could both save money!!!!!... more
