Use Craigslist!!!! I get so much business just through Craigslist. An amazing, FREE tool. Goto Postlets.com to make an HTML ad, and then upload it to craigslist. Just beware, every time you post on CL it open the door to scammers and spammers to email you. I personally feel as though its good tradeoff. If you need any forms, proposal to purchase, contract of sale, open house sign in sheets, checklists, etc, I can email or fax them to you, on the house. :)
Good luck!
Sincerely,

Danielle,
I might suggest you seek the services of a FLAT FEE listing company often referred to as a "for sale by owner" marketing company to assist in your quest to sell by owner. The fee is typically $395/495 - the cost of one weekend's newspaper ad, yet u get long term advertising on Realtor friendly sites.
However, be advised that not all Flat Fee companies are alike (as with traditional RE companies). Most only contract to provide coverage on the local MLS and Realtor.com. You want to find a flat fee companies that also provides coverage on sites such as Trulia (and in my view, Trulia is truly value added as it has made great strides in improving their performance and I, personally, as well as my clients have noticed the difference).
In full disclosure, my current business is with a flat fee company that has seen great success and I personally do not cover your area. Therefore, if you would like to consult with me regarding how to identify the company most appropriate for your needs, I would be happy to oblige.
Love and Peace,

Hi Danielle,
You've received quite a few differing answers on the subject so I'll set the record straight. Trulia does not include for sale by owner listings within our search results at this time. And as Fred explained, even if you post your home on a site that feeds listings to us, it will not be shown on our site if it is indeed a FSBO listing.
I should also note that, while Trulia does have relationships with many MLSs, by and large listing information is not automatically sent to us from the MLS. Franchises, brokers, and agents can submit listings to Trulia and this is how we obtain most of our listings. That means that if you do sign up for a flat fee service, the flat fee broker can submit your listing to Trulia.
I also want to remind everyone who answered below that answers need to be informative and address the question. Inviting the question author to contact you for the answer is considered spam and such posts risk removal from our site.
It's also important for everyone to be courteous and respectful of other community members within their answers. Please always keep the following guidelines in mind when you post content to Trulia Voices:

Again you are mistaken Larry, Trulia only accepts feeds from agents. Even if you list on Postlets.com, If you sign up as FSBO, it will not feed to Trulia. You should do some more research before posting an answer.
Yes thanks Fred. Trulia is one of those that only takes from vendors or agents. But if you list on sites affiliated with Trulia it will get listed on Trulia.

Sorry Danielle "my bad"
Trulia does not offer For sale by owner listings but there are vendors they work with that will forward your listing to Trulia for free. But not to speak negatively about Trulia or anyother site, these sites are not solely responsible for selling any home. They are a way to get exposure. Exposure is what you need to tell the public you are for sale. When you sell yourself you are exposing your home on the market. This could also be a safety issue and also emotional. Do not get emotional when a potential buyer comes into your home and says they don''t like decorating or the furniture. Selling is an emotional process. If you can get past your emotions you should do well.
but Zillow and other sites do offer For Sale By Owners.
I think you will find good Realtors full of help and useful information. You should talk with a Realtor. A Realtor will first and foremost be able to provide a free market analysis of your home. Get a few of them. Make sure you have all your information you need upfront ready to sell your home.
You need to talk with a good mortgage rep. You will also need to know all about buyers and their ability to buy. What they can do to qualify. How they will qualify.
You have a got a good start of information provided here with your post. Certainly got emotions rolling here too. Now its time to interact and sell your home while rates are down and buyers are hot!

Larry you are mistaken. For sale by owners can not post on Trulia.com. They can only be posted by a licensed agent.
Danielle,
When you are trying to sell a home yourself ultimately it is your goal to save money. As easy as this sounds it is very difficult. In fact in these days of bargain hunters you will be driven up the wall with bargain hunters. As Realtors we all have a big share of them. I personally do not bother myself or my listed homeowner clients with these people. Qualifying is the key to selling a property. It is the basis of every sale but more difficult today since so many people do not qualify in todays market.
To access Trulia to list your property, just click at the top my trulia. You will have a way to list your property as a for sale by owner. Same for Zillow! use the pictures you take to upload to these sites.
There are multiple websites out there to list your home as an owner seller. But you could go broke up front trying to find the anything that will get you results. many of the For Sale by Owner Sites cost you money upfront.
Make sure you are ready to list your home. Price, Qualifying, advertising, exposure, appointments, follow up, legal, obligations and more
If you need help contact me no obligation, I'll help you get on your way to selling your home yourself.
It's not easy but it is done by many successfully. I'd love to help. and I can! I'm just around the corner.

Danielle,
Trulia only accepts listings that are represented by a broker/agent. This can include some FSBO sites such as owners.com and Fred Romano who posts here regularly, seems to have affiliates
( http://flatfeerealtydirect.com/ ), across the country that will do a flat-fee arrangement and list it here. As an owner, you may create an ad in the blog section, and even upload photos and videos along with posting links. The blog attached to the link below may be of some interest to you as well. Good luck.

How sad and unprofessional. Michael says... "Jeff does not know what he is talking about.. " First off, you are angry because you don't want money taken out of your mouth. The main reason why a homeowner would want to sell their house as a FSBO is because they don't want to pay a realtors commission or a fee.
So Michael, yes, I will agree with you that it's not easy to sell your home on your own. And yes, I do get business from realtors. I even have a realtors office in Florida, that I am their preferred lender, because they don't trust too many lenders in Florida. And because I have a proven track record and have closed their clients loans. I also get borrowers from my blogging online and from past referrals. And I knew if I put an honest answer out there from a loan officer, that some realtor would take a stab at me and try to make me look bad. That sir is sad and unprofessional.
Overall, both you and Jeremy told the client that you would help them sell their house for them. But you now damn well that doesn't answer their question and would cost them money. Sorry, but I shoot straight from the hip and don't consider this sales. Yes, I know realtors that have helped sellers that wanted to sell as a FSBO. But they still collect a fee. Unless you are telling me that you would do this for free. But please don't insult my intelligence.
Danielle, I can show you how to market your home without the help of a realtor. I will also give you the pluses and minuses, without getting a commission. I am a loan officer, not a realtor. I have been doing this for over 16 years. I do recommend realtors because it is hard to sell your house without knowing the ins and outs. But I wanted to help you with your question and not sell like the other 2 did.
Again, you can call me or e-mail me any time. You can also read my blogs online, which are very informational to bother borrowers, sellers, and realtors.
Thanks,
jeff

Danielle,
Do you mean how do you get your home listed on Trulia as a FSBO? Trulia takes homes that are featured on our local MLS and then feeds them to this site. Depending on the agency and the realtor the home may or may not appear as a featured listing. I'm sure its your goal to get the most exposure and at the same time save money. In order to get a home sold in today's market the home must be properly priced and gets lots of exposure. I have a plan for for sale by owners that will give the most exposure while and netting you the highest profit. Feel free to give a call and I'll explain.

you can go to a website called "forsalebyowner.com"
Jeff does not know what he is talking about..
A realtor will help you to sell your home., even if you are trying to sell on your own because we know that 90% of FSBO's realize that it is not as easy as it seems to sell on your own.
PS Jeff I sure hope you do not need referrals from Realtors to get business
Danielle,
You probably won't get an answer from a realtor on this subject. You can contact me anytime and I would be glad to give you a few ideas.
thanks,
jeff
