Niki from Trulia here. Per our terms and conditions for listing, if you are a real estate professional, you agree that you will not claim or submit listings that do not belong to you. When a listing is sent in to us there is a "listing agent email" field in the data. We match the email address in the data to the email in an agents profile. When you "claim" a listing our system automatically sends an email to the address in the listing data for permission. This maybe an issue if the listing was syndicated to Trulia through a third party that uses a "lead router" email address for the listing.
