Hi Matt,

Great question! Trulia is a made up word. Our founders wanted a name that calls to mind truth and trustworthiness - hence the 'tru' part. The 'lia' is more about the sound aesthetics. Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Please let us know if you have any other questions or any feedback for us.

Hi Matt and Emily,

I was going to say it means: Backed by Sequoia Capital Venture Partners and running out of patience with the planned dominance of the real estate brokerage community....but that was just a guess.

Emily's answer is better lol

Hi Matt,

Ah! A question about the word- trulia! I looked it up and there is no definition for Trulia. I am guessing that it is a company name.

I can also answer your questions about Denver metro real estate. Call me if I can help.

I thought it was derived from a common real estate term "TRUth in LendIng Act". Seemed appropriate.
