There isn't any 2008 sales data in Suffolk, New York. What's gone wrong?!?
Greetings,
I'm new to Trulia and I think I've discovered a problem. Suffolk county New York doesn't hasn't have any "Sold Homes" data since mid-January. Zillow is having the same problem too. This problem is only in Suffolk county (e.g. 11741). Nassau county (e.g. 11756) is just fine. I'd hope that the problem can be fixed. I haven't figured out Suffolk's land-records web site yet (if it actually works). The site has been described as an "old-school sort of Soviet-style system". So I need something like Trulia for pricing homes.

JR, Take a look at... http://www.trulia.com/real_estate/Holbrook-New_York/ ... and click on the "Number of Sales" tab. It says that three houses were sold this year. It's this way for any suffolk town I've checked. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I just checked Holbrook and MLS shows 45 passed title between Jan 1 and today. Thu May 15 2008, 11:25

Bryn,
You can look up specific homes that have sold in the last 9 months for any city or zip code. This page below shows recently sold homes for the 11741 zip code. http://www.trulia.com/NY/Holbrook/11741/#sold/11741_zip/ Also, our heat maps are a good way to visualize price trends in an area. Check out our Suffolk County heat map with list price and sale price data by zip code. http://www.trulia.com/home_prices/New_York/Suffolk_County-heat_map There can be a lag from the time that a sale is closed to the time that the county or other local office makes the public record data available to third parties, including our data provider. Hope this helps- Chris (from Trulia) Thu May 15 2008, 10:03 Web Reference: http://www.trulia.com/home_prices/New_York/Suffolk_Coun...
