ACTIVE and WITH CONTRACT; are contradictory.
If a Listing is ACTIVE, it is available
If there is a Contract, it is PENDING, or maybe accepting BACK-UP offers.
If there is a CONTRACT, the odds of you getting that house are very small. And if the current deal falls through, they will probably just make it ACTIVE and look for more offers. You should probably move-on and find another house.
You should never fall in love with a house until you have it. This is self-destructive.
Ask them. Why do you think they are abandoning you? Are you responding to their calls or e-mails? Are your parameters reasonable? Are you available to view homes? Are you pre-qualified or have proof of funds? Most agents who have a "live" buyer will stay with them as long as they think they buyer is loyal and reasonable. Hope this helps.
