Hey sorry to disagree...but it takes more than 5 minutes by car to get from Aptos to Santa Cruz.. Have you seen the traffic lately? 15 minutes on a good day on HWY 1 without traffic. Can take various other routes...Soquel...but there is traffic all over now.
Bikes or bus...are an option.

are pretty effective. There are stops at Dolphin and Sumner, Freedom near the
freeway, one near the frontage road at Rio Del Mar, and more! Lots of folks
use a bike to go from school to home. No light rail here yet! But there are rumors
