You didn't say whether you'd be commuting to NYC on a daily basis, or just an occasional weekend trip. If you'll be going in daily, you'll likely need to drive to a nearby train station -- where parking could be a problem (most commuter lots have waiting lists). MetroPark isn't far -- there is parking there. If you're going in on a weekend, you can find parking at any number of train station lots (Fanwood, Westfield, Cranford, Linden, or Rahway). If you take the train from MetroPark, Rahway or Linden, you'll get service directly into Penn Station in NYC. The line from Fanwood, Westfield, Cranford will take you to Newark's Penn Station where you can take the PATH or else continue in (changing trains) to NYC's Penn Station. Check out NJ Transit's website for details on schedules, etc.
