Which city would have a faster commute to Emory? Alpharetta or Woodstock? How long would these commutes take during peak times?

Living between the two and being on the road with appraisals and sale daily, neither is a great option. Obviously avoiding peak times is better but they both have challenges. I'd say Alpharetta up to about Mansell Road. If it hits the fan - which is regularly will - you have a couple of alternatives. Alpharetta is also a better bet for value stability...

Alpharettta will be the better commute though will still take 45 minutes on a good day and could be much longer on a bad one anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. Personally I would consider a home closer in such as dekalb or gwinnett counties.

Alpharetta at 45-60 minutes. Woodstock at 45-60 minutes. Mostly depends on which part of the cities you are speaking about. They are both big geographic footprints. I can provide specifics once we determine the two homes / subdivisions you want. Let me know the homes.

Please consider Dekalb or Gwinnett for your commute, Bgliga, as you would be looking at about a 5-15 minute one way trip (going in AM, coming home PM) for Dekalb to a 20-30 minute ride from Gwinnett. You would likely be able to find a carpool as well if that fits your weekly itinerary. Good Luck!

Deangela is correct.

Driving to Emory from Woodstock everyday should take only 45 minutes as well, but those 45 minutes are only available between the hours of 830pm and 530am.

If you work at night, that's OK. Otherwise, choose the GA400 corridor commute.

Regardless, commuting is an atrocious, life sucking option for too many Atlantans - what are the compelling reasons for commuting for hours everyday vs. choosing a Dekalb neighborhood?

Alpharetta is closer than Woodstock. It would take about 45mins - an hour. This has been my experience atleast. Best wishes on your relocation. Please let me know if I can further assist.
