I've been a season ticket holder for the Thrasers (NHL) since they were created, they play right there at Philips. When Jupitor aligns with Mars and the Sun is in the 7th House (and of course it's a dry weekend, no construction, no accidents, speed traps or events)....I can highball and shoot it in about 35-40 minutes to the Crabapple area. My office is off Roswell Road (120) in East Cobb and I can do in about 5-10 minutes less as it's closer to the highway. I'm also an appraiser and spend many days in the field - I've had the same run go 60-90 minutes....

It's a two step dance - side roads then highways. Don't forget to factor in school activity, that will cripple times. If you leave early before that (by 0630) life is easier....if you say 45-60 as a rule you'll be reasonable - it's all about timing.

Let me know if you need anything -

Hank

Hi Dolly,

I live in Marietta, Lassiter High School area, and it takes roughly 35 minutes to get to downtown...with GOOD traffic. Of course, the traffic is usually a BIG factor. I would say that you should add about 15 to 20 minutes if your talking about going during rush hour.

Hi Dolly,
Having live both in Marietta and currently in Alpharetta I would say that both David and Barry have good answers. You could be right off the loop at exit 112 or 113 in Marietta and have almost instant access to I-75 or you could be back in the Shallowford Rd/Johnson's Ferry area and have to travel on surface streets for 30 min or more just to get to the interstate. Just a few minutes difference in the time you leave for work can make a big difference too.

Same in Alpharetta or Roswell. There are areas in each city that have very quick access to the GA400 corridor and then you just have to deal with interstate traffic or you could be farther from the main arteries of travel and have to spend considerable time in surface street traffic just to get to get to interstate.

After growing up and living in Marietta for over 30 years I moved to Alpharetta because I like the lifestyle out here better. We'd need to know a lot more about you and what you are looking for in a home and community to tell which might be the better choice for you and your family.

I agree with David that on average you probably would travel about 45 min from Marietta or Roswell and 50 from Alpharetta. What really matters is how you feel about the home and community when you arrive after a long day's work. There is not enough difference in commute time to make that a deciding factor. Decide what other things are most important to you and your family like schools, area shopping and amenities, type of home and neighborhood...etc and base your decision on those needs.

Good Luck,
Regards,
Deryk

30-1,000 minutes. it just depends on traffic, accidents, time of day, etc. if there is a braves game, falcons game and an event at the World Congress Center going on at the same time. Also, you mentioned three cities not even close... add or subtract 30 minutes depending on where you are starting from. just such a broad question that's why you are getting a broad answer. 50 minutes from Alpharetta, 45 from Marietta, 45 from Roswell. If you get there in 35 consider yourself blessed. Don't be too upset if it took 60.

All depends on the time of day. During normal commuting hours, I would estimate 45-75 minutes depending on the weather (rain always adds time). On a Saturday, you could get there in under 30 minutes at normal speeds.

If you're going to do this on a daily basis, be prepared for 45-60 minutes on average. Other factors are how close you are to the major Hwys (400, 75), whether you can use backroads as altnerates and how far north you are.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
