If you live in the northern part of Ridgefield (Ridgebury and surrounding neighborhoods like Mamanasco, Fox Hill and Rainbow Lake) it's a 12-15 min drive to Purdy's or Goldens Bridge and there are a plethora of trains at rush hour back and forth, hourly on weekends. The drive is beautiful (along the Titicus Reservoir) and the train itself takes one hour and 5 minutes. Plenty of parking available. It's a very civilized and reasonable commute.

You have several options depending on what part of Ridgefield you are commuting from and your hours at work. There is the Danbury spur line which is a longer ride but a shorter drive. It services the east side of town and has 3 direct trains in the morning and 3 in the afternoon during the typical rush hour. These trains are on the New Haven Line of Metro north. There is no charge for parking at these stations. On the west side you have the Harlem River Line with various parking options from Katonah, Golden's Bridge and Purdys. These trains are shorter but a longer drive. There is also a shuttle bus from Ridgefield to the Katonah station. Ridgefield residents depending on numerous factors use anyone of these trains. If you would like more information on the parking that is obtainable for each station.

Sorry, somehow my first answer was deleted. In the meantime someone answered as well. Here is the link to Metro North The answers below are both helpful. It really depends on what side of town you live on. Branchville maybe a shorter drive, express trains are more limited, tho. Depending on hour, may have to switch in South Norwalk. Needless to say there are multiple options.

Also, once you pull up the schedule for each station, click on the station name and info about parking will come up. It depends on what scehdules suit your needs and how far you wish to drive. Good Luck again.

If you go out of the Katonah or Cross River stations it takes approx 1 hr and 5 minutes to Grand Central Station. We do have a train in Ridgefield but it takes 1 hr and 35 minutes into Grand Central on that train.

Additionally, there is a shuttle service that operates from Ridgefield to the Katonah station. If you go to the Metro-North website you will find all the schedules and times.
